Training schedule

When training with, or visiting, the Club, please abide by the Code of Conduct and the safety measures in the COVID-19 training plan.

Training groups

Sword Play (school years 1–5)
Sword Skills (school years 6–8)
Open team (school year 9–adult)

Training times

Mixed training – general training with a focus on developing foundational skills and technique

Saturday (during school terms, excluding public holidays)
9.00–10.30am – Sword Play and Sword Skills
10.30am–12.00pm – Sword Skills and Open team
(Sword Skills can choose to train with Sword Play or with the Open team)

Serious stabbing – intermediate experienced fencers: challenging session including agility, fitness, strength, power, technique and tactics

Monday (every week, excluding public holidays)
7.00–8.30pm – Open team

Social stabbing – beginner and intermediate fencers, and those fencing for fun and fitness (rather than competition)

Thursday (every week, excluding public holidays)
7.00–8.30pm – Sword Skills and Open team

The Richard Emmerick Shield is MFC's club comp, open to all fencers aged 10 (born 2013 to compete in 2024) and over.
